Your hazardous chemical awareness program, otherwise known as Hazard Communication (HazCom), has been around since OSHA enacted the regulation back in 1983. The scope of the standard was expanded in August 1987 to include all employers with employees exposed to hazardous chemicals.
The HazCom standard (29CFR 1910.1200) requires employers to have a written hazcom program; labels on containers of hazardous chemicals, safety data sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals, and training for applicable workers.
This presentation will provide the attendees with the knowledge of the important aspects of the OSHA HazCom standard; to understand the information on Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and what you need to do to comply at your locations.
