2 pm “Fall Webinar: TSA Update on Rules, Regulations, New Guidance & Cyber Security Developments”

Find out the latest from TSA. What is going on with the Security Training Rule? Where do we stand with the Mask Order for our Passengers? What's new with Cybersecurity?

TSA published a notice extending the implementation date of its security training final rule this Spring.  The rule requires higher-risk surface transportation providers to provide security training for certain employees. In addition to other surface modes, the rule applies to certain over-the-road buses (specifically those fixed route and commuter operators providing service to New York City, DC, Chicago, LA, Houston, Newark, San Francisco, Boston, San Diego, and Philadelphia). Compliance with the rule will be instituted in stages. TSA has already created and maintained several free security training programs for the motorcoach industry.

Orders issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) implementing the “Executive Order on Promoting COVID-19 Safety in Domestic and International Travel” are now in effect. The CDC order requires the wearing of masks by all motorcoach passengers and to notify passengers of this requirement. There is a very narrow list of exemptions to this requirement. The TSA order applies only to fixed route or scheduled service motorcoach operators and includes a signage/notification requirement, as well as a mechanism to report uncompliant or disruptive passengers. TSA may pursue civil penalties against non-compliant passengers ranging from $250-$1500. The TSA order is currently scheduled to expire on January 18, 2022.

During this session, find out more about the rule and some available security resources. It is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Are you beefing up your preparations for the next cyber attack? Find out about some new resources with BISC today.

“Vehicle Maintenance Lift Safety”

Vehicle lifts are common equipment found in maintenance facilities that allow mechanics to perform vehicle repairs more efficiently and safely when used properly. However, if used improperly, catastrophic injuries can occur when lifted vehicles become unstable and fall. This training session will focus on compliance with vehicle lift safety standards, equipment certifications, preventative maintenance, vehicle lift operations and operator training requirements.

“Policy Prep Workshop”

We are all adjusting to the significant impact of COVID-19 in the workplace and the regulatory requirements to ensure the safety and health of our employees and customers.  With vaccine mandates being implemented on a state level, federal level (potentially), and sometimes a contract basis, are your policies and procedures keeping up with the changing landscape?

During this session, we will discuss how to approach evaluating what kinds of changes and policies you might need to consider, what scenarios and special situations might come up and how to integrate accommodations into the changes that you are making.

What key questions must you consider for your passengers and your employees before you get going or implementing a new policy? With the assistance of the peer-to-peer sharing of our lauded industry experts, let BISC help show you the way!
