Your ASCAP/BMI Discounted Member Rate

We are pleased to inform our members about the negotiated discount with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI) by the American Bus Association in 2002. These organizations protect approximately 98 percent of the music industry from copyright violations. As per legal requirements, every business must possess ASCAP and BMI licenses to utilize music within their operations, whether for performances, customer entertainment, or inclusion in media such as movies.

ASCAP and BMI licenses are essential for various businesses, including bowling centers, restaurants, department stores, and hotels. For current ABA members, the discounted rates are $34.70 per coach per year for ASCAP and $34.50 per coach per year for BMI. While we acknowledge this incurs an additional expense for your company, it’s important to note that these rates represent the most competitive fees available.

ASCAP and BMI licenses are not mandatory if your business opts not to utilize music or videos on coaches. However, for those currently under the agreement or interested in participating, kindly submit payment by April 15, 2024, along with the ASCAP and BMI forms.
