With close to 30 years immersed in storytelling and strategic communication, Ben serves as ABA’s Director of Communications, culminating in his rich professional journey spanning diverse roles since 2009. His expertise encompasses a multifaceted skill set, from writing and editing to podcasting, game design, content marketing, and beyond. This broad proficiency has earned Ben an impressive collection of over 25 awards in communications, content marketing, publications, and game design.

Ben’s primary role at ABA is managing the Association’s communications output, including social media, online content, and publications. He also serves as the primary contact for the press and crisis communications for both ABA and the ABA Foundation.

A passionate storyteller, Ben’s zeal lies in crafting captivating narratives that resonate with varied audiences. His trajectory to Washington, DC, traces from life stops in Orlando, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, eventually settling in the northern Virginia locale he affectionately calls home.

Beyond the written word, Ben’s adventurous spirit finds expression in global explorations with his wife of nearly three decades. Whether sailing the seas on cruise ships or navigating hidden gems off the beaten path, their travels often feature whimsical LEGO minifigures, capturing their escapades. This fascination extends to Ben’s active collaboration in regional LEGO showcases.

Back home, Ben remains a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, an avid consumer of cutting-edge science fiction, and a dedicated “cat dad.”
