BISC Security Committee

Your forum for safety and compliance.

Join the top safety and security professionals of the Bus Industry Safety Council in biannual meetings and quarterly committee meetings to develop and promote methods, materials, and procedures to enhance motorcoach safety and security.

Mission

Founded in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, the mission of the security committee is to improve the security awareness and preparedness of surfance transportation passenger providers in order to prevent terrorist attacks and save lives.

Goals

The BISC Security Committee is the main interface between our industry and government security regulators, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The committee’s main goals are to:

  • Get and distribute timely, relevant and actionable security sensitive information to assist each company in protecting their employees and passengers.
  • Commenting on security rules that will impact the motorcoach industry to make the new regulations more industry friendly rather than hard to implement rules designed by government regulators in a vacuum.
  • Assist the TSA in designing industry friendly products and exercises to the TSA Administrator for funding.
  • Help companies to obtain security grant funding for security items such as GPS, cameras, lighting, and fencing.
