Mission Statement

The goal of the New Era Leadership Council is to support multigenerational business operations while preserving the history of the motorcoach industry. This includes focusing on the long-term future and sustainability of the industry and long-range planning for the industry’s future.


  • Enhance the future leadership of the American Bus Association while working with next generation of motorcoach industry business owners.
  • Provide business resources and insight to determine future ABA board members.
  • Ensure longevity of the industry including next generation of motorcoach manufacturing teams (sales, service).
  • Provide support to encourage upcoming generation to take over family businesses and operations.
  • Create awareness of multigenerational and family business operations in the motorcoach industry.

To join the NELC, all participants must meet criteria to be part of the selective group of active business leaders.

  • Actively participates in the industry for 3-5 years minimum
  • Has ties to multigenerational business including direct family relation or leadership within existing family business
  • Good standing member of both national and statewide organizations
  • Closely associated with motorcoach operations or manufacturing companies for motorcoaches

The American Bus Association serves a thriving industry that provides nearly 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service, and shuttles. Membership in ABA includes motorcoach operators, tour operators, tourism-related organizations, and products and service suppliers.
