Session: Orientation

Get a feel for how and what the Bus Industry Safety Council is, when they will meet and how you can get involved. The goal of improving motorcoach safety and ensuring that your bus is ready to travel safely down the road. Is one that we should all share. If you are a safety, compliance or maintenance professional, this is where you need to be.

8:30 – 9:15 a.m.

Session: In Case of Emergency, Passenger Safety Briefings and Evacuation Tips

Unfortunately accidents do sometimes happen. Learn how to instruct passengers how to safely and efficiently exit the motorcoach in case of emergency. A passenger safety briefing should be recorded before each and every trip. Learn about the guidelines for the briefing as recommended by the federal government and the options currently available to deliver it. In the wake of SB 247, this is one that you won't want to miss.

Session: Recruiting, Hiring and Retaining Drivers

Session: FMCSA Update

In this session, get a sense of what new regulations the Agency has put in place in 2019 and get an opportunity to directly address our regulators as they set out the top priorities for the Agency for the remainder of this year. During this session there will be many items to review, from the implementation of ELDs, the evolution of the lease and interchange rule, time tables for the drug and alcohol clearinghouse or entry level driver training to the emergence of autonomous vehicles. Stay up to date on the future direction of our industry’s enforcement directly from our regulatory partner.

Session: Driver Health & Wellness, Implementing an Injury Prevention Program

Safety is number one priority in transportation. Being safe, starts with being well!
