Traditional business models and governance practices are undergoing significant disruption in both the private and public sectors due to technology and the emergence of non-traditional players. During our sessions, we quickly encounter a pressing challenge: leaders often pay lip service to change without genuinely implementing new practices to sustain it.

Ultimately, people will reflect on what they can see, yet many leaders are ill-equipped to serve as effective role models. Individuals and groups generally prefer conformity, choosing to “go along to get along.” This reluctance to stand out makes it difficult for most to embrace change, particularly when it involves taking risks.

Alex McElroy is an international speaker, TEDx speaker, leadership advisor, Apologist, author, and blogger for RelentlessPursuitofPurpose.com. Alex has successfully implemented his message of leadership and purpose in the ministry, non-profit, and business worlds. He has also enjoyed tremendous success in the mortgage industry, insurance, financial services, and energy efficiency. He is also a dedicated husband to his supportive wife and a loving father to two beautiful daughters.

Though living in his purpose now, Alex has experienced and overcome significant struggles and setbacks in life. He suffered the loss of his father at a young age and the loss of his mother more recently, dealt with drug and alcohol abuse in his college years, and found himself in an angry, depressed, and lonely place as he endured financial hell that resulted in bankruptcy and desperation. Thankfully, these arduous moments served to reveal Alex’s purpose. Now Alex travels the world coaching and training others to discover their unique purpose and lead with purpose because he firmly believes that everyone has been created on purpose with a purpose!
