Fred Ferguson is President and CEO of the American Bus Association (ABA).  As CEO he is responsible for the Association’s day-to-day operations, in addition to his role at ABA, he also serves as President of the National Bus Traffic Association and of the ABA Foundation.

Fred brings over 15 years of experience in public policy and strategic communications within the government, non-profit, and private sectors. Before joining ABA, Ferguson was a key executive at Vista Outdoor, where he led state and federal lobbying, community relations, corporate communications, and ESG/CSR initiatives.

Recognized as a Top Lobbyist and CSR Professional, Ferguson has played a pivotal role in communications for 14 M&A transactions totaling over $3 billion. He has testified before Congress and executive branch committees on seven occasions. His career in the US House of Representatives spanned over eight years, during which he managed two successful campaigns for Full Committee Chairmanships and mentored over 50 Congressional staffers.

Ferguson holds a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science from Drexel University, and received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah. Passionate about family, mentoring, and golfing, Ferguson is dedicated to advancing ABA’s mission and fostering growth within the bus and motorcoach industry.

The American Bus Association serves a thriving industry that provides nearly 600 million passenger trips annually on charters, tours, scheduled service, and shuttles. Membership in ABA includes motorcoach operators, tour operators, tourism-related organizations, and products and service suppliers.
