FMCSA Update In this session, review the new regulations that the Agency has put in place in 2020 and get an opportunity to directly address our regulators as they set out the top priorities for the Agency for the remainder of 2021. During this session there will be many items to review, from the implementation of ELDs, the evolution of the lease and interchange rule, time tables for the drug and alcohol clearinghouse or entry level driver training to the emergence of autonomous vehicles. Stay up to date on the future direction of our industry’s enforcement directly from our regulatory. |

The National Transportation Safety Board is one of the agencies that initiatives a post-accident investigation following a fatal accident and makes recommendations to the industry as well as the government on what steps can be taken to avoid similar accidents in the future. What lessons can we learn from recent fatal motorcoach and school bus crashes? Find out at the next presentation by the NTSB. |

Get a rundown of how to conduct the pre-employment screening process and what resources are available to you. Also learn about the types of documentation you should be using for the driver qualification process and some best practices to get a driver up to speed on how you want things done at your company. Utilizing this new blueprint for success may help your business and help you find the drivers that you desire. |

Speaker: Pam Reipold Brought to you by the School Bus Council As a school bus operator, your worst nightmare is when one of your students is killed onboard one of your vehicles. A few years ago, F.M. Kuzmeskus, who operates over 130 school buses, had an incident that resulted in a student fatality. During this session, learn from their experiences, and consider their recommendations for best practices to help you and your drivers avoid a similarly tragic situation. |

Session 201: Developing a Risk-Management Matrix for Motorcoach Operators Speaker: Col. Mike Licata/Kerry Thomas Brought to you by the BISC Security Committee Motorcoach operators face a variety of security risks on a daily basis due to our precious cargo, flexible operational profiles and diverse operating environments. As a result of the annual intercity bus security grants, more and more operators are developing security plans and doing security assessments, but evaluating risk and quantifying that risk could be the missing link in our industry’s security preparedness. Session 202: NHTSA Update Speaker: Ryan Rahimpour With the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration slowing down on the rulemaking front and focusing more on the development and integration of autonomous vehicles into our highway system, vehicle defects, recalls and related investigations have garnered the majority of the industry headlines of late. The NHTSA Office of Defects Investigations heads the efforts related to recalls and defects. During this session, attendees will learn what constitutes a defect and how that becomes a recall, and why some defects don’t. There will also be updates on current investigations or recalls. |

Session 205: DOD-DTMO Update Speaker: Rob Johnson The Military Bus Program has undergone a number of major changes the past few years. With a new CVSA-led inspection program set to begin and a number of new initiatives set for 2019-2020. Find out about new program features and expected changes to the master agreement, plus new program enhancements such as an online portal. |

Speaker: Elizabeth Abbott Brought to you by the BISC Workplace Health & Environmental Safety Committee Did you know that to even receive more than 2 lbs of refrigerant at least one member of your staff needs to be certified in either EPA 608 or 609? This session will cover these certification requirements, but also best practices for safe disposal and storage. There are hefty fines for those that don’t comply. EPA regulations (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart F) under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act address the handling and recycling of refrigerants used in stationary refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Regulations (40 CFR Part 82, Subpart B) under Section 609 of the Clean Air Act specifically address the servicing of motor vehicle air conditioners. |

TSA Cybersecurity Workshop The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in conjunction with the American Bus Association (ABA) and its Bus Industry Safety Council (BISC), invites you to participate in an upcoming seminar and workshop focusing on cyber security. The session will include scenario-based presentations focused on intelligence and information sharing; planning; interdiction and disruption of cyber security events; protective measures; on-scene protocols, and actions by law enforcement. This event will also include a discussion of recent cyber security incidents, a review of the TSA Cyber Security Guidance, and a demonstration of potential cyber security scenarios from your peers. |
